The mission of the Executive Committee of Hiroshima Art Project is to promote art and culture especially contemporary art including cultural exchange, increase public awareness of the history of Hiroshima, and design urban space, through exhibitions, workshops, lectures and events aimed at people and organizations who live in, visit, and/or have interest in, Hiroshima, in order to contribute to the advancement of art and culture, the realization of world peace and the sustainable development of environment and society.

The Executive Committee of Hiroshima Art Project was founded in May 2006 as the Executive Committee of Former Naka Waste Incineration Plant Art Project and renamed to the current name in May 2007.
